I had Chalmers make some repairs to my existing wedding ring; they did an excellent job. We had also wanted to get a replacement wedding band for my husband, Ronni was really quite knowledgeable and very helpful in our selection.
They worked closely with me to find the right stones to add to a custom necklace that I wear daily (aka hard use). Once we figured out which (birth) stones to use, it only took a couple days to complete the work.
I was pretty much clueless prior to walking into Chalmers. All I knew was the type of stone I wanted and a vague description of the overall ring. I was helped immediately by Carol and she went right to work and within a short time had put together exactly what I was looking for!! Chalmers staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and makes a very big decision fantastically low stress. Carol never pushed or pulled me in any direction and noticed my reactions immediately when something didn't quite fit what I was looking for. Overall, I would highly recommend Chalmers! Not that there is anything wrong with "big box" jewelers, I just very relaxed and a more personal touch while making my decision. In fact, so personal, that I found out the GM and I both served in the Navy and within in the same community and another salesperson was from my hometown in IL! You can't get much more personal that that!!
Chalmers did a great job with the designing process of our engagement/ wedding rings and they turned out fantastic. The sales and ring designer staff are very wonderful people and seem very honest and genuine (we dealt with Travis and Brian). The reason for the 4 star rating is mainly because of the owner. My wife and I were dealing with Travis and Brian over a few weeks and everything was going great and painless. Then one day we were at the Middleton location, designing my wifes wedding band with Travis and Brian. Then pretty much out of nowhere the owner butts in the conversation and starts basically telling us what we need. My wife and I were like, ahhh...nope we have been planning this for a while and we have a good idea what the ring should look like. He came off very rude and to be honest, he came pretty close to losing the sale. But we stuck with them due to the great work Travis and Brian did with us. So Chalmers is a great place if you dont get stuck with working with the owner.
I went in just to look at engagement rings to see what I liked, I did not think I was going to find my ring but I did and I am so happy! Carol was extremely helpful, I told her my budget and that I wanted something vintage. She never showed me anything over my budget and whenever I was about to ask to see a ring, she would already be grabbing it for me. Carol made it fun and easy, I loved every minute of it! I cannot wait to get my ring on Wednesday!
